What brought you to CrossFit in the first place?
I wanted to join the police academy, and I knew with the shape I was in and my current workout routine that was not going an easy task if even possible, plus I wanted to try something different
What was your first impression? How has that changed?
I was impressed with how JP welcomed me right away, along with other members that night cause I know I was definitely scared about being there. Everyone made me feel very welcomed. I liked how JP explained the workouts to where I could understand them and gave me options on how to scaled something if I could not do it.
What was your first “bright spot” and what are you working on now?
I would have to say that when I came back two days later and signed up for a membership, and kept on coming back because I knew that’s where I was supposed to be. Or when I passed my final fitness test for the police academy, because I know had it not been for Crossfit Katana my dream never would have become a reality. Right now I am trying to get back into a routine of coming to the gym for 4-5 classes a week, but that is hard right now with everything I have going on.
What’s your favorite CrossFit Katana memory?
I would say when I had won a challenge a couple of years ago. With the money I had won from that challenge it allowed me to have one last good visit with my father before he passed away for that I will be forever grateful.
What other interests take up your time when you’re not at the gym? I love spending time with my little dog bogie and taking him for car rides to different places where we can walk around. I recently purchased a home and have been extremely busy with trying to get it ready so I can move into it. That alone is taking up a lot of my time right now.
